POGP at the Gas Station

1.6.2023

On 17-19 May 2023, the 28th edition of the International Gas Station Fair organized by the Polish Chamber of Liquid Fuels took place in Warsaw. For the first time, a zone for the gas industry, GastechExpo, was part of them. The team and members of the Polish Liquefied Gas Organization took an active part in the fair - as exhibitors and organizers of accompanying events.

About 100 exhibitors and about 4,000 visitors take part in the Stacja Pliw fair every year. The same was the case this time, although in 2023 the gas industry was particularly widely represented. For the first time in the history of the Gas Station Fair, a special zone was created for companies from the gas fuel industry (LPG, CNG, LNG or hydrogen). Members of the Polish Liquefied Gas Organization also presented their offer: Chemet SA, FAS Poland, GOK Rulers and Fittings, Hexagon Ragasco AS, IPS SYSTEM and Vitkovice Milmet SA.

On the second day of the Fair there was a meeting Women in LPG Poland, organized by the World LPG Association network Women in LPG (Women in LPG), the meeting was part of the organized activities undertaken since 2022 to activate women in the LPG industry. This meeting turned out to be an excellent opportunity to share knowledge, experiences and inspiration. At the Polish Liquefied Gas Organization, we believe that supporting and promoting women in our market is crucial for the further development and success of the industry.

The Polish Liquefied Gas Organization also organized a thematic session entitled Alternative fuels in transport, during which Bartosz Kwiatkowski, Paweł Baranowski, Bartosz Czubała and Maciej Prośniewski spoke about the prospects of LPG in transport.

Bartosz Kwiatkowski, The CEO of POGP, presented the prospects for the regulations from the Fit for 55 package that await the automotive industry in the near future - in particular the inclusion of road transport in the emissions trading system, the adopted ban on the marketing of passenger cars with internal combustion engines after 2035 and the Euro 7 standard. Paweł Baranowski, Renault Group marketing manager, spoke about the role that gas-powered cars play in Dacia's strategy and the great popularity of this underappreciated fuel. Bartosz Czubala, commercial director of Prins Autogaz, vividly presented the price and ecological qualities of LPG in transport. The presentations of the car manufacturer and autogas installations estimated the operating costs of cars powered by autogas at 60% of the cost of driving on gasoline. Maciej Prośniewski, Director of Gazeo.pl, put forward a thesis about the LPG renaissance in Europe. In the face of the energy crisis in 2022, sales of autogas vehicles in Europe grew at a double-digit rate, with Italy and France proving to be the growth leaders. The success of autogas in Europe last year was also contributed by local regulations on clean transport zones, which treat gas as low-carbon in Western Europe.

As every year, we thank the organizers for the excellent atmosphere and the opportunity to exhibit the offer of our companies.
