Central Register of Excise Entities in the Making

The creation of the Central Register of Excise Entities, which will replace the 44 paper excise registers kept by the heads of the tax offices competent in excise matters, is one of the measures under the amendment to the Excise Duty Act that enters into force on Monday.
As of 1 February, the act establishes the electronic Central Register of Excise Entities, which will replace the 44 paper excise registers kept by the heads of the tax offices competent in excise matters. The register is intended to provide up-to-date information on excise entities to both the tax authorities and businesses. It is also to make it easier to verify the entities involved in supplies of excise goods.
The amended provisions are also intended to simplify the rules for monitoring supplies of excise goods exempt from excise duty on account of their intended use (aviation fuels, marine fuels and LPG) on the basis of the electronic delivery document (e-DD).
