POGP Members Collect Awards in November

2021 has been a very fruitful year for POGP members. As the year draws to a close, the first summaries and awards are arriving.
On 25 November the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Paris hosted the Polish-French Business Gala under the patronage of Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau and Minister of Development and Technology Piotr Nowak. The event's partners were the Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry in France and the French employers' organization Medef.
Statuettes were presented during the Gala, honoring companies in three categories. In the Polish Exporter to France category the award went to Grupa Azoty, and in the category French Investor in Poland – to Stellantis, the group created by the merger of Fiat with France's PSA; the third category, however, is the one that pleases us most.
A member of the Polish Liquefied Gas Organization (POGP), Chemet SA, was honored in the Polish Investor in France category. The award was granted for its investment in the French company GLI SAS. The company's history proves that it is possible to build an international industrial group in Poland. The firm has existed since 1945 and managed to find its place on world markets during the difficult period of the country's political and economic transition. It came through restructuring successfully, was privatized in 2002 and in 2020 acquired the assets of its French competitor GLI SAS. The transaction crowned the company's full internationalization, which the award jury recognized.
On 30 November Katowice, in turn, hosted the Europejskie Forum Biznesu (the European Business Forum). This year's series of debates was held under the banner “Economy, entrepreneurship and society in the post-COVID reality”. The event's partners and honorary patrons included the European Parliament, the National Center for Research and Development, the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, the Polish Committee for Standardization and the Kraków University of Economics. During the evening gala the winners of the 15th edition of the Najwyższa Jakość Quality International (Highest Quality – Quality International) program were announced.
Among the winners was our member, AmeriGas Polska, awarded for its Integrated Quality Management System in the QI ORDED category – highest-quality management. As one of the leaders in implementing the ISO standard on the Polish hydrocarbons market, AmeriGas represented the liquefied gas sector at the Katowice Gala. The award for our member is proof of the importance our industry attaches to quality standards.
