Energy Efficiency Act Signed by the President

On 26 April 2021, the President of the Republic of Poland signed the Act of 20 April 2021 amending the Energy Efficiency Act and certain other acts.
The document enters into force 14 days after its publication.
The essential purpose of the act is to transpose into national law Directive (EU) 2018/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2018 amending Directive 2012/27/EU on energy efficiency (OJ EU L 328 of 21.12.2018, p. 210).
The act as adopted therefore creates, within the national legal order, the basis for the new arrangements provided for in the said Directive 2018/2002/EU, which are aimed at achieving the national final energy savings target of 5,580 toe by the end of 2030.
The amendment is intended to make it possible to achieve the national final energy savings target by the end of 2030.
